Truthfulness is when you say what really happened, just like telling your friend exactly what you saw at the park.
What It Feels Like
Why It Matters
When people are truthful, others can trust them. It’s like when you promise to share your toys, if you do it, you’re being truthful, and your friend will want to play with you again. But if you say you’ll share, but then keep all the toys for yourself, that's not truthfulness, and your friend might feel sad.
Being truthful helps people understand each other better, just like how blocks need to be stacked correctly so they don’t fall, if everyone is truthful, things go smoother!
Examples
- A child tells the truth even when it means getting in trouble.
- A friend says they don’t like your new haircut, but only because they want to be honest.
- A teacher admits they made a mistake on the test.
