Being honest means saying what you really think or feel, even if it’s not easy.
Imagine you're playing a game with your friend, and you both want to pick the same toy. If you say "That's my favorite toy!" when you actually don’t care about it, that’s not being honest. But if you say, "I like that toy too," even though you’re a little sad because you wanted it first, that’s being honest.
What Happens When You're Honest
Why It Matters
Sometimes being honest feels hard, just like when you have to say "I don’t want to go to bed" even though your eyes are tired. But it helps you feel good inside, and other people will respect you more for it.
Examples
- A child says they didn't take the last cookie, even though they did.
- A teacher grades a student higher than they deserve.
