Succession is when one thing takes over from another, just like when you hand your favorite toy to a friend after you’re done playing with it.
Imagine you and your friend both want to be the boss of a game. You start off being the boss, making all the rules and deciding what happens next. But then, after a while, you decide it’s time for your friend to take over. That's succession, when one person or thing passes on their role or position to someone else.
Like Passing the Baton
Think of it like passing a baton in a relay race. You’re running and holding the baton, but when you reach the end of your part of the track, you pass the baton to your friend. Now they're the one running, they take over from you. That's just like succession in real life: someone takes over from another person when it’s their turn.
A Real-Life Example
If your mom is the head of the house and decides to go on vacation, maybe your dad will step in and become the new head for a while. That’s succession, one person taking over from another, just like passing a toy or a baton!
