What is transitional?

Transitional means something is changing from one thing to another, it’s like when you’re in between two places or things.

Imagine you're wearing your favorite pajamas and about to put on your superhero outfit. You're transitional, you're not fully in pajama mode, but you’re not all dressed up as a superhero yet either. It's the middle part of the change.

Like a Slide Between Two Rooms

Think of a slide at the park. When you go from one side to the other, you're transitional, you're on the slide, moving between two places. You’re not in the first room anymore, but you haven’t reached the second one yet. That's being transitional!

Like a Melting Ice Cream

Or think of an ice cream cone melting in the sun. It starts as hard and cold, then it gets softer, that’s transitional time! It's changing from solid to liquid, just like you when you're moving between pajamas and your superhero outfit.
