What are six seasons?

A day has 24 hours, but some places have six seasons, like having six different flavors of ice cream to try all year round!

Imagine you live near the North Pole, where it gets super cold and super warm. In one part of the year, the sun stays up for a long time, making everything bright and cozy, that’s summer. Then, slowly, the days get shorter until one day, the sun disappears completely, that's winter, when it’s so dark you can see your breath in the air!

But between those two big seasons, there are smaller changes. When the sun starts coming back but isn’t up all day, that’s early spring, like when a flower starts to bloom after a long sleep. Then, when the days get longer and warmer, it becomes late spring, almost like the sky is getting ready for summer.

When the sun starts setting earlier again, you get early autumn, like leaves turning colors on trees. And finally, when the days are short but not completely dark, that's late autumn, like wearing a cozy sweater before winter comes!

So, instead of just four seasons, some places have six, each one showing a little change in the weather and light! A day has 24 hours, but some places have six seasons, like having six different flavors of ice cream to try all year round!
