What are fat cells?

Fat cells are tiny storage bags inside your body that hold energy from food.

What They Look Like

Imagine you have a backpack that can get bigger when you put more stuff in it, and smaller when you take the stuff out. That’s kind of what fat cells do! When you eat, especially foods with lots of sugar or fatty snacks, your body turns those into little energy balls called fat, which go inside these storage bags.

How They Work

Your body has millions of these storage bags, they're like a big team working together. If you eat more than you use, the bags get fuller and maybe even grow bigger. That’s why sometimes your body might feel rounder or look like it’s gotten a little fluffy. But if you move around, play, or run, those energy balls can come out and be used up again, kind of like when you empty your backpack after school!

Fat cells are just doing their job, storing extra energy so your body has power for later. It's like having a snack stash in your pocket, useful on days when you need it most!
