Infections spread when germs travel from one person to another, like a game of tag.
Imagine you have a friend who has a cold, they’re sneezing and coughing all over the place. When they sneeze, tiny germs fly out in the air, like little invisible balls. If you're nearby, those germs might land on your face or go into your nose or mouth, and poof, you catch the cold too!
Sometimes germs travel through touching things. Like if your friend touches a toy, then you touch that same toy later, and then you touch your face, boop! Now you have the germ.
How Germs Make Their Way
Germs can move in different ways:
- Through the air (like when someone sneezes)
- By touching surfaces or objects
- From person to person by shaking hands or hugging
Sometimes, germs are like little travelers, they go from one body to another through a chain of infection. It’s like passing a message in a bottle: one person sends it, and the next person receives it!
So remember: if you want to stay healthy, wash your hands, cover your sneezes, and don’t forget to say thank you, because that's how germs travel!
