What are drop-off rates?

A drop-off rate is how many people stop doing something halfway through.

Imagine you're on a fun ride at the park, like a roller coaster. At the beginning, everyone's excited and gets on. But as it goes up, some kids get scared and decide to get off before the big drop. The number of kids who leave the ride compared to how many started is the drop-off rate.

Like a Journey

Think about going from your house to the park. You start with 10 friends. Some stop at the first hill because they're tired, and others keep going all the way to the end. The ones who left halfway are like people with a high drop-off rate, they didn’t make it all the way.

Why It Matters

If too many people leave early, maybe you’ll want to change the ride or take more breaks. That’s how companies use drop-off rates, they see where people stop using their app or service and try to fix those parts so more people keep going.
