The biopsychosocial model is like a team of friends who all help you feel better when you're not feeling well.

Imagine you have a toy that breaks, it might be because the toy was old (bio), or maybe you dropped it really hard (psycho), or maybe you were sad and didn’t want to play with it anymore (social). The biopsychosocial model says all these things matter when we're not feeling our best.

How It Works

  • Bio means body, like if you have a cold, or your leg hurts.
  • Psycho means mind, like if you’re worried, excited, or tired.
  • Social means friends and family, like if your mom gives you a hug when you're sad.

So when you're not feeling well, it's not just one thing that’s wrong. It could be your body, your thoughts, or even how you feel around other people. Doctors use this model to help figure out what's going on and how to make you feel better, like a team of friends working together!
