How Paper Is Made?

Paper is made by turning trees into flat, smooth sheets that you can write on, just like how cookies are turned into a batch of treats in an oven.

From Tree to Pulp

First, workers cut down big trees, and then they chop them up into little pieces. These pieces go into a special bath where they get mixed with water and some helpers, kind of like when you make soup, but for wood! This makes a soft, squishy mix called pulp.

From Pulp to Paper

Next, the pulp goes through a big machine that presses it flat and smooth, just like how your hands press down on playdough to make shapes. Then it dries into long sheets of paper. These sheets are cut into smaller pieces so you can use them in notebooks, for drawing, or even for wrapping gifts!

Finally, the paper goes through another machine that makes it super smooth, like when you rub a stone against your skin to make it feel soft. Now you have real paper ready for you to write on!
