Why Do We Forget Our Passwords?

What Happens

Imagine your brain is a giant library. Memory is like the books on the shelves. When you type a password, you are trying to find one specific book. Sometimes you look at the right shelf but pick up a similar-looking book instead. That is why you think you typed 'q' when it was actually 'p'.

Why It Gets Lost

Your brain gets busy. If you use many passwords, they start to mix together like colors in a rainbow. This is called interference. The new ones push out the old ones. Also, typing on a screen uses different muscles than writing with a pen. Your hand forgets the movement, so your mind forgets the word.

How to Fix It

Think of a story for each password. Make it silly! If your password is 'BlueTiger9', imagine a tiger wearing blue pajamas eating a pie. The sillier the image, the easier your brain finds that book in the library later.
