What Makes Rain Smelly?
When rain falls, it travels through the air and hits the earth. It meets dirt, leaves, and even rocks. These things give off little pieces that mix with the rain, like when you step in a puddle after playing outside and your shoes get all muddy.
How We Smell It
The rain carries these tiny bits to us, and when we breathe them in, they make our noses happy or curious. Some people say it smells like fresh grass, wet earth, or even clean air, just like when you open a window on a rainy day after being inside all morning.
It's like the rain is telling us a story with its smell, and we get to sniff it out!
