Humans have different skin colors because of where they live and how much sunlight their ancestors got.
Imagine you're playing outside on a sunny day, your skin gets warmer, and over time, it can get darker to protect you from the sun. Now imagine some people lived near the equator, like in Africa, where it’s always hot and sunny. Their skin became darker to help them stay safe from too much sunlight.
But then, some humans started moving to places with less sun, like Europe or Asia. There, they needed their skin to absorb more sunlight to make vitamin D, which helps bones grow strong. So their skin got lighter over time, kind of like how a blanket gets thinner when it's not as cold outside.
Where did humans originate?
All humans started from one place, Africa! Think of it like the beginning of a big family tree. A long, long time ago, some people stayed in Africa, and others went on adventures to new places. As they traveled, their skin colors changed based on the sun where they lived.
So even though we all have different skin colors today, we're all part of the same big human family! 🌍✨
