What Was the War?
Imagine you're in a huge playground, and your friends start fighting with all their toys. That's what happened between countries, they had a really big fight called World War I. It lasted for years, and many people got hurt or lost their homes.
The Rulebook
After the war ended, everyone sat down to write the rules of how things would be from then on. This rulebook was called the Treaty of Versailles, and it was like a final agreement that said who won, who had to give up some land or money, and what they could do next.
It wasn’t just about one country, many countries were involved, and each got different rules in this big, long rulebook. Some people were happy with the rules, but others felt it was unfair because they had to work harder to pay for their mistakes.
So, the Treaty of Versailles was like a grown-up version of dividing up toys after a big fight, just much more important!
