What Caused WW1? - In 2 minutes?

WW1 happened because countries were like kids who didn’t want to share their toys, and they ended up fighting over it.

Imagine you're playing with your best friend in the park. You both have a big bag of toys, but one day, your friend says, “I’m going to take this toy from you!” That makes you mad, so you start a little argument. But then other kids join in, some because they like you, and others because they want to take toys too! Soon it's not just a small fight, it becomes a big war.

The Spark That Started It All

A prince was killed, which is like someone pushing your friend into the mud during a game. This made his family really angry, so much that they started fighting with another family who had been friends with the first one. These families were from big countries, and now their whole countries were involved in the fight!

The Countries Got More Friends to Help

Soon, other countries joined in too, like kids who all wanted to take sides in the toy argument. Some countries even had secret plans, kind of like when you hide a surprise gift for your friend but accidentally drop it on the ground.

That’s why World War 1 started, a big argument that turned into a huge fight because of one little push!
