Filippo Brunelleschi was a brilliant builder who helped make some of the most amazing buildings in history.
Imagine you’re trying to build the tallest tower with only blocks, but you don’t know how to stack them so they stay up. That’s what it was like for people back then, when Filippo started working on the Dome of Florence Cathedral. It looked almost impossible to make such a big dome out of stone without any modern tools. But Filippo figured out a clever way to do it, he used arches and domes that could support each other like steps in a staircase.
Like Building with Blocks
Think about how you stack blocks to build a tower, if you place them all at the bottom, they can hold up more weight. Filippo used this idea to make his dome. He built it layer by layer, just like stacking blocks, so it could stand tall without falling down.
He also invented something called linear perspective, which helps artists draw things that look real, like how a road seems to get smaller as it goes into the distance.
Filippo Brunelleschi wasn’t just a builder; he was a thinker and a creator who changed how people built forever!
