If America was still ruled by Britain after the Revolution, it would be like your favorite toy stayed in the hands of someone else instead of being yours.
Imagine you and your friends tried to take back your toy from a bigger kid, but failed, then that bigger kid kept it forever. That's what happened if America lost the Revolution.
What Would Happen to Your Freedom?
If Britain still ruled America, you wouldn’t have as much freedom as you do now. You would be like a kid who has to listen to rules set by someone else, instead of making your own choices.
You might not get to choose what school you go to, or how you dress, it might all be decided for you, just like when your parents tell you what time you have to be home.
What Would Happen to Taxes?
Britain would still charge taxes on everything America made. It's like if someone kept taking pieces of your candy every day without asking, and you couldn’t do anything about it.
So, if America lost the Revolution, we’d be more like a kid who has to follow rules set by someone else, instead of being free to play and grow up how we want.
