What is whirlwind?

A whirlwind happens when wind moves in tight circles. It’s kind of like how you spin around on a merry-go-round, the faster you go, the more things around you get pulled along with you. In a whirlwind, the air is doing the spinning, and everything nearby gets caught up in the fun.

Sometimes, whirlwinds are little and short, just a quick swirl of wind that makes leaves fly. Other times, they can be big and powerful, like when you see dust or small rocks flying into the sky!
