A trigger is like a special button that starts something else happening, just like when you press a button on a toy to make it go vroom!
Imagine you have a robot friend who loves to dance. Every time you say "Dance!", your robot starts spinning around. The words "Dance!" are the trigger, they tell your robot what to do.
How Triggers Work
Think of a trigger like a secret message that says, "Time to act!". It can be anything: a word, a sound, or even a feeling. When you hear that secret message, something happens, just like how your robot dances when it hears "Dance!".
Sometimes, triggers are hidden in everyday things too! Like when you press the "Play" button on your favorite song, and music starts flowing out of your phone, that's a trigger too!
So whether it’s a toy, a robot, or even a song, a trigger is just something that gets everything started.
Examples
- A loud noise triggers a startle reaction in a child.
- Smelling cookies makes you hungry, that’s a trigger.
- Seeing your favorite team lose triggers sadness.
