What is tribute?

Tribute is when one person or group gives something to another as a sign of respect or friendship.

Imagine you and your best friend both have lemonade stands. One day, you decide to give each other gifts, maybe some extra lemons or a special cup, just because you like being friends and want to show it. That’s kind of like tribute!

What Tribute Feels Like

Think about when you bring your mom a flower from school. You didn’t have to, but you wanted to make her happy. That's tribute too! It's not always something big, sometimes it’s just a little something special that shows someone else is important to you.

Why People Give Tribute

People give tribute for many reasons: to thank someone, to honor them, or even just because they like each other. Like how your teacher might bring cookies to the class on a special day, that's tribute from the teacher to the students!

Tribute is like a friendly hug with something extra, it's love in action!
