What's Inside the Earth?
Imagine you have a big, heavy rock that you hold in your hand. That's kind of what the Earth feels like from the outside, solid and strong. But if you could dig all the way through it, you’d find something surprising: a hot, glowing center.
How Hot Is It?
The core is made mostly of metal, like iron and nickel. It’s so hot that it's almost like liquid. Scientists think the temperature there is around 5,700 degrees Celsius, which is hotter than the surface of the Sun!
To help you imagine how hot that is, picture a kitchen stove that’s on full blast, like when your mom or dad burns your toast. The core is way hotter than that, it's like having thousands of stoves all working together inside the Earth.
Even though we can’t feel it from the surface, this hot core helps keep our planet warm and makes things like volcanoes and earthquakes happen, just like how a fire in a fireplace can make the whole room warm. The Earth’s core is super hot, like having a giant fireball inside our planet!

Examples
- Imagine a giant oven at the center of the Earth that's hot enough to melt metal.
- If you could dig all the way to the Earth’s center, it would feel like being in a lava-filled room.
