A successor is just someone or something that comes right after another person or thing, like a line of people waiting for their turn.
Imagine you're playing a game with your friends, and it's your turn to go first. After you finish, the next person in line takes over. That person is your successor, they follow you and take your place.
Like a Line at the Playground
Think about the queue at the slide. The first kid goes down, then the second kid steps up. The second kid is the successor of the first one. Just like that, in many games or activities, there’s always someone ready to step in after you, and that person is your successor.
Or Like Passing a Toy
If you're playing with a toy and pass it to your friend, your friend becomes the next person to play with it. That means your friend is now the successor of you in the game.
A successor doesn’t need to be magic, they just come after someone else in a clear, friendly way.
Examples
- If you count from 1 to 10, the number that comes after 7 is its successor.
