Collective Leadership - What is leadership?

Leadership is when people work together to make something happen, and everyone has a role to play.

Imagine you and your friends are trying to build the tallest tower with blocks in the playground. One of you might be the one who grabs the biggest blocks, another might be the one who counts how many layers there are, and someone else might be the one who says, "Hey, we need more red blocks!" Collective leadership is like that, it's when a group of people all help lead a project or make decisions, instead of just one person being in charge.

How It Works

In collective leadership, everyone has something important to say. Just like how you might take turns being the leader of your game during recess, leadership can be shared among friends, teammates, or even whole communities.

Sometimes, a group might have more than one leader, and they all help each other out. It’s like having two kids who both know how to start a game, they can work together to make the game better for everyone.

When you share leadership, it's easier to solve problems because there are more ideas and more people helping out!
