Speed is how fast something moves from one place to another.
What does speed feel like?
Imagine you're on a playground swing. If you just gently push yourself, you move slowly, that's low speed. But if you jump and pump your legs hard, you go really high and fast, that's high speed!
Speed is about how much time it takes to go from one spot to another. If you run across the room quickly, you have high speed. If you take your time walking, you have low speed.
A race between friends
Think of two friends having a race. One friend zooms past the other like a superhero, that’s because they have more speed. The other friend is still catching up, that's less speed.
Just like how fast you can ride your bike or run to catch your favorite snack, speed is all about moving quickly from one place to another!
