Speed is how fast you can move from one place to another, like when you race your friend to the park.
What does it mean?
Speed is about how quickly something happens, not necessarily how strong or quiet it is.
Imagine you have two toy cars: one is tiny and light, and the other is big and heavy. If they both start at the same time on a ramp, the tiny car might zoom ahead, even though the bigger one is stronger. That's because the tiny car has more speed, it goes faster.
Why speed matters
If you're playing tag, being fast means you can catch your friend before they hide. If you're running to school, being fast means you get there quicker and might even have time for a snack!
So while strength helps you lift things and stealth helps you stay hidden, speed lets you move quickly, like lightning on the playground! Speed is how fast you can move from one place to another, like when you race your friend to the park.
Examples
- A race car zooms past a truck that is stuck in traffic.
- A cheetah chases a gazelle across the savanna.
- A runner finishes a sprint before their friend.
