What is sex?

What is sex? It’s when two people come together to create new life, like a special kind of teamwork.

Imagine you have a big box full of building blocks, each one has instructions for making something new. When two people do sex, they're like sharing their boxes and combining the blocks to build a brand-new person inside someone else’s body. That new person is called a baby.

How It Works

When adults do sex, it's kind of like mixing ingredients in a kitchen. One person has special eggs (like tiny, round balls) that come from their body. The other person has tiny swimmers (called sperm) that go on a journey to find those eggs. When they meet up, they stick together and start making a new life, just like when you mix flour and water to make dough.

Why It Happens

Sometimes people do sex because they want to have a baby, but other times it's just something fun that grown-ups enjoy doing together, kind of like playing a game or sharing a special moment.
