What is rotating?

Rotating means moving in circles around a center point, like when you spin around on a merry-go-round.

Imagine you're holding a toy fan, the kind that spins really fast and makes you feel cool. When you turn it on, the blades move in round paths, going all the way around again and again. That’s what rotating is: moving in smooth circles without stopping.

Think of your favorite spinning top. When you give it a push, it starts to rotate, going round and round on the floor. It doesn’t go forward or backward like a car; it just keeps making full circles. That’s how planets move around the Sun too! They all rotate in their own special way.

If you're on a merry-go-round at the park, and it starts to spin, you’re rotating with it. Every time it goes around once, you've made one full circle, just like when you twirl around in your favorite dance move.

So rotating is just moving in round paths, making full circles again and again!
