What is Combined motion?

Combined motion is when something moves in two ways at once, like a toy car that’s both going forward and spinning its wheels.

Imagine you’re holding a roller skate, the kind with little wheels on each foot. Now, picture yourself moving forward while also turning your body to the left. That’s combined motion! You're not just sliding one way; you're doing two things at once: going straight and turning.

Like a Bouncing Ball

Think about a bouncing ball that's also spinning as it goes up and down. It’s moving up and down, but it’s also spinning around, like when you throw a football and it twirls in the air while flying forward. That’s combined motion too!

Like You on a Swing

Or think about being on a swing. When you move back and forth, that's one kind of motion. But if you also sway side to side as you swing, now you're doing two things at once, that's combined motion in action!
