What is Reparation?

Reparation is when someone fixes something they broke or made worse.

Imagine you have a toy car that’s your favorite. One day, you’re playing with it and it crashes into the wall, poof! The front of the car is all bent up. That’s like damage. Now, if you want to play with your toy car again, someone has to fix it. If it's your brother who broke it, he might say, “I’ll make it better!” and he fixes the car so it works just like before. That fixing part is called reparation.

Like When You Borrow a Bike

Sometimes, reparation isn’t just for toys. Imagine you borrow your friend’s bike to ride around the neighborhood. But you’re not careful, you crash into a tree! The bike has a wobbly wheel now. To say sorry and make things right, you might spend time fixing the wheel or even buy a new one. That’s reparation too, making up for something that was broken.

Reparation can be as simple as fixing a scratch on your wall or as big as rebuilding a whole house after a storm. It's about making things better again!
