What is Michelangelo?

Michelangelo was a super talented artist who made amazing pictures and sculptures that people still love today.

Imagine you have a big block of stone, like the ones your dad uses to build his garden path. Most people might just chisel a little bit here or there, but Michelangelo saw a whole person inside that stone. He used special tools and lots of patience to carve out that person, like turning a lump of clay into a perfect face.

Michelangelo didn’t just make statues; he also painted huge ceilings, like painting on the inside of a big dome, while standing on ladders! He was so good at drawing and painting that people thought he could almost see the future when he put his pencil to paper.

Think of Michelangelo as a real-life superhero who used carving tools instead of a laser sword. He turned plain stone into beautiful figures, and made people feel like they were looking at something alive, not just art. He was like the ultimate artist, sculptor, and painter all in one!
