What is Long-term?

Long-term means something that happens after a lot of time passes, like waiting for your favorite toy to arrive after a long trip.

Imagine you plant a seed in the ground. You water it every day, but it takes months before it grows into a big tree. That’s long-term, you’re doing something now so that something good happens later.

Like Saving Up for a Big Treat

Let’s say you get 5 cents every time you clean your room. At first, it feels tiny. But if you keep cleaning, after a year, you’ll have saved up enough to buy a big candy bar, or even a toy! That’s long-term thinking because you’re working now so that you can enjoy something bigger later.

Like Growing Up

You're little now, but one day you'll be tall and grown-up. That's long-term too, it takes time for you to grow, just like the seed in the ground.

So long-term is when you do things now so that something good happens after a lot of time passes.
