What is job?

A job is what grown-ups do every day to earn money and help their families.

Imagine you have a favorite toy that helps you build cool things, like a LEGO set. Now picture your friend has the same toy, but they want to trade it for something else. That’s kind of how a job works. Grown-ups use their skills, things they’re really good at, to do tasks for other people or companies, and in return, they get money.

How Jobs Work

When you go to school every day, that's like having a job too! You learn new things so you can grow up and have your own job one day. Just like how you practice drawing or counting to get better at those skills, grown-ups practice their jobs to get better at what they do.

Why Jobs Matter

Money from a job helps people buy food, clothes, toys, and even go on fun trips, just like you save up your allowance to buy that special toy you want. So a job is like having your own superpower that lets you earn cool stuff and help others too!
