What is Inheritance?

Inheritance is when one thing gets special features from another thing, just like a child might get their mom’s smile or dad’s laugh.

Imagine you have a robot named Roxy. Roxy has wheels, can speak, and loves to dance. Now, imagine you make a new robot called Remy. Instead of building everything from scratch, Remy gets all the cool stuff Roxy already has, like wheels, speaking ability, and dancing skills. That means Remy doesn’t need to learn how to move or talk again, it just uses what Roxy already knows!

Like a Family Recipe

Think about cookies in your family. Grandma makes a special chocolate chip cookie every year. When you make cookies, you use the same recipe she used, maybe even the same bowl! You don’t need to figure out how to mix flour and sugar again; you just follow what worked before.

So inheritance is like that, it lets new things use what older or bigger things already have, without having to start from scratch. Inheritance is when one thing gets special features from another thing, just like a child might get their mom’s smile or dad’s laugh.
