What is illumination?

Illumination is when light makes things visible so we can see them clearly.

Imagine you're playing hide-and-seek in a dark room, it's hard to find your friends because there's not enough light. But if someone turns on a lamp, suddenly everything becomes easier to spot. That’s illumination: the process of making things bright and visible by adding more light.

How Light Works Like a Spotlight

Think of illumination like a spotlight at a play. When the lights are off, the stage is dark, but when the spotlight shines on an actor, you can see them clearly, just like how light helps us see objects around us.

Sometimes, we use special tools to help with illumination. A flashlight is like a tiny lamp that you carry, and it sends out light in one direction, helping you find your way in the dark.

Why Illumination Matters

Without enough illumination, things can feel mysterious or hard to understand, like trying to read a book in a dimly lit room. But with good lighting, everything becomes clear and easy to enjoy!
