Imagine a room like your bedroom. When you turn on one light bulb, it sends out light in all directions. Some of that light hits the walls and reflects back, making everything around you visible too, like how the moon reflects sunlight to us from far away. So even though only one bulb is on, the whole room can be bright because of reflection!
Examples
- If you shine a flashlight on a white wall, it looks brighter than if you shine it on a dark surface.
- You see the whole classroom from one window because the light bounces off desks and chairs.
