What is global?

Global means something that happens or is shared everywhere, on the whole planet, not just one place.

Imagine you and your friends all have a big, bright light in your hands. If you turn it on, everyone can see it. Now imagine every kid on Earth has a light like that. When they all turn their lights on at the same time, it’s like one giant glow, global light!

Like Sharing Your Snack

Let’s say you have a big bag of your favorite snack, maybe candy or chips. If you share it with just your friends in class, that’s local. But if you send some to every kid on the planet, from the tallest mountain to the deepest ocean, that’s global sharing! Everyone gets a little piece of your snack.

Like Talking to Faraway Friends

When you talk to someone right next to you, it's like whispering. But when you use a phone or computer to talk to someone in another country, it’s like shouting across the world. That’s global talking, connecting people from all over the planet!Global means something that happens or is shared everywhere, on the whole planet, not just one place.
