Feel is how something touches or moves inside your body when you touch it.
Imagine you're holding a soft pillow and a rough towel, that’s feel. The pillow feels gentle because its surface is smooth, like a sleepy cloud. The towel feels scratchy because its surface is bumpy, like walking through a field of tiny grass blades.
How feel works
Your skin has special helpers called sensors, they're like little detectives that tell your brain what something feels like. When you touch the pillow, these sensors send messages to your brain, saying, “This is soft!” When you touch the towel, they say, “This is scratchy!”
Feel can change
Sometimes feel can surprise you! If you put your hand in cold water and then move it to warm water, your brain might think the warm water is cold, because your sensors are confused. It’s like when you first step out of a hot shower and your feet feel super chilly, even though the room is just normal.
Feel helps you know if something is soft or hard, warm or cool, like having a map inside your skin that shows you what's going on outside!
