What is Eid?

Eid is a special day when people celebrate and say hello to family and friends in a very happy way.

Imagine you have a favorite toy that you only get to play with once a year, like your birthday toy, but for all of your family and friends. That’s kind of what Eid feels like! It's a time when people put on their nicest clothes, give each other gifts, and sometimes even eat really good food together.

During Eid, people often say "Eid Mubarak!" which means "Have a happy Eid!", just like saying "Happy Birthday!" to someone you love. It's a time when everyone is smiling, hugging, and enjoying each other’s company. Some people even give money as a gift, like getting an allowance for doing something special.

Eid happens at the end of a month-long celebration called Ramadan, kind of like how your birthday comes after a whole month of counting down! People who fast during Ramadan get to enjoy big meals and sweet treats on Eid. It's like having a big party after a long, fun adventure.
