What is Egypt?

Egypt is like a big, long sandwich that stretches from one end of a continent to the other.

Imagine you're sitting at a table with your favorite sandwich, thick slices of bread with lots of fillings in between. Egypt is kind of like that: it's a country that runs along the bottom of a river, just like how your sandwich has layers inside it. This river is called the Nile River, it’s like the main juice of Egypt, giving life to everything around it.

The People and Their Homes

The people in Egypt are like kids who live next to a huge playground. They build their homes along the river, just like you might build your treehouse near a swing set. Some houses are made from bricks that feel warm when the sun shines on them, and others use stone that feels cool when it’s hot outside.

The Pharaohs and Their Adventures

Long ago, there were special leaders called pharaohs, they were like kings who ruled Egypt with big smiles and lots of helpers. They told stories about their adventures in the desert, which is like having a huge, sandy backyard where you can run around and hide from your friends.

Egypt is full of history, just like a storybook that’s been read for thousands of years, and it's still being written today!
