Dysregulated means something is not working as it should, like when a toy breaks and doesn’t do what you expect it to do.
Imagine you have a favorite remote control that turns on your TV. Most of the time, it works great. But sometimes, it clicks the wrong button, or it doesn’t turn on the TV at all. That’s kind of like being dysregulated, everything is still there and normal, but it’s not doing what it usually does.
Like a Playground
Think of a playground. When everything is working well, kids can slide down the slides, swing on the swings, and run around freely. But if one part of the playground doesn’t work, like the swings stop moving or the slide gets stuck, that’s a little dysregulated. The whole playground isn’t broken, but it's not doing what it should.
Sometimes, the body or brain can feel like that playground, working normally most of the time, but sometimes getting stuck or going haywire.Dysregulated means something is not working as it should, like when a toy breaks and doesn’t do what you expect it to do.
