Like Sharing Lunch
Think about sharing lunch at school. You have a big sandwich and 4 friends. To distribute the sandwich fairly, you'd cut it into 5 equal pieces, one for each of you. Now everyone has a piece, and no one feels left out.
When Things Are Shared in Groups
Sometimes, distributing happens when you're dividing things like toys, books, or even chores. If there are 6 toys and 3 kids, you’d give each kid 2 toys, that’s distributing the toys equally among them.
So whether it's candies, sandwiches, or toys, distribute just means to share something fairly so everyone gets a fair part.
Examples
- A mom divides 12 cookies among 4 kids, so each kid gets 3 cookies.
- You share 6 candies with 2 friends, everyone gets 3 candies.
- A teacher gives out 8 pencils to 4 students, each student receives 2 pencils.
