What is call?

Call is when you ask someone to do something or tell them about something important.

Imagine you're playing a game with your friend, and you shout out, "I found a toy!" That's a call, you’re letting your friend know something exciting has happened. Now imagine you're at the park, and your mom says, "Come here!" That’s also a call, she’s telling you to come to her.

Sometimes, a call is just saying something out loud so someone else knows what's going on. It can be as simple as a whisper or as big as a shout across the playground.

When Call Happens

  • You call your brother when you need help with homework.
  • A teacher calls your name to ask a question.
  • Your dog calls you when it sees you coming home.

Every time you use your voice to get someone's attention or share something, that’s a call, and it makes communication fun and easy!
