What is Borneo?

Borneo is like a giant island that’s home to lots of animals and trees, it's kind of like your favorite playground, but much bigger!

Borneo is so big that it could fit inside the United States! It has thick forests, which are like huge blankets made of trees and plants. In these forests live animals like orangutans, who swing from tree to tree just like you might climb on the monkey bars at recess.

Borneo isn’t owned by one person or country, it’s shared! Parts of it belong to three different countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and a small part belongs to Brunei. It's like if you, your friend, and your cousin all shared the same really big toy.

Borneo has rivers that are so long they look like giant snakes winding through the land. It also has mountains, which are like tall hills that you might run up during a race at school!
