What is bear?

A bear is a big, furry animal that lives in forests and likes to climb trees and eat honey.

What Does a Bear Look Like?

Imagine your favorite stuffed toy, but much bigger! A bear has short legs, a round body, and usually a fluffy coat. Some bears are black, some are brown, and even some are white like snow (those are called polar bears). They have big paws that help them walk on soft ground and climb trees easily.

What Does a Bear Do?

Bears love to eat honey, they use their strong claws to break into beehives. But they also eat berries, fish, and even sleep for a long time in the winter (that’s called hibernating). When they wake up from their nap, they’re ready to play or go on an adventure.

Think of a bear like a friendly giant who lives in the woods, you might see him rumbling past your house one day!
