What is artist?

An artist is someone who uses their imagination to make things that express how they feel or what they see.

Imagine you have a big box of crayons, and you draw a picture of your favorite animal, maybe a cat or a dinosaur. That’s like being an artist! Artists use tools like paint, clay, or even just paper and pencils to create pictures, sculptures, or music that show their thoughts and feelings.

Sometimes artists work alone, just like you might color in your notebook during recess. Other times, they work with others, like a band playing music together or a group of people painting the same big picture.

You don’t have to be famous to be an artist. Your friend who writes stories about dragons is an artist too! Even your mom, who bakes cookies and decorates them with icing shapes, is being creative, just like an artist.

Artists help us see the world in new ways, and they make life more fun and colorful, just like your crayon drawings.
