What is Animalia?

Animalia is the big group that includes all living creatures that move around and eat food, like you!

Animals are living things that can move by themselves and eat other things to grow strong. Think of it like your favorite toy car, it moves on its own, just like animals do.

Animals are different from plants because they don’t sit still all day long. Plants stay in one place and make their own food using sunlight, but animals have to find or catch their food. You have to eat snacks or meals too, that’s what makes you an animal!

Some animals, like dogs and cats, are furry and run around a lot. Others, like fish and birds, live in water or fly in the sky. Even tiny creatures like ants and spiders are part of Animalia, just like you are.
