What are two different wet seasons?

A wet season is like when it rains a lot for a long time, making everything soggy and green.

Imagine you have two friends who both love to play in puddles, but they do it at different times of the year. That’s what happens with two different wet seasons!

When It Rains Like a Water Slide

In some places, like parts of Africa, there are two wet seasons, one in the middle of the year and another near the end.

Think of it like this:

  • In the first wet season, it rains so much that the grass grows super fast, and little animals come out to drink from the puddles. It’s like having a water slide every day!
  • Then, after a while, it stops raining, but then, poof!, rain comes back again for the second wet season. This time, the trees get really big, and birds sing louder because they’re happy with all the water.

It's kind of like having two parties in one year, both with lots of rain, but at different times!
