What are services?

A service is like a special kind of helper that does things for you without being a person.

Imagine you go to a restaurant, you don’t cook your food yourself, but the chefs and waiters help you by cooking and bringing it to you. That’s a service: someone or something doing work for you in a helpful way.

Like a Friend Who Does Jobs

Think of a service like a friend who does jobs you need done. Maybe they bring you your lunch, clean up after you, or help you with homework. You just tell them what you need, and they do it, no magic, just friendly help!

Services Can Be People or Things

Sometimes services are people, like a teacher helping you learn. Other times, they’re things, like a vending machine that gives you a snack when you press a button. Even your favorite toy can be a service if it helps you have fun or solve problems.

So a service is just something, a person, a machine, or even an app, that does helpful jobs for you every day!
