Different industries are groups of people who do similar jobs to make or sell things that others use.
Imagine you're playing with building blocks. Some kids build towers, they’re like the construction workers and engineers, who help build houses, schools, and even your favorite playgrounds. Others paint pictures on paper, they’re like artists or teachers, helping people learn and create beauty.
Now think about when you go to the store with your parent. The person behind the counter is in the retail industry, selling things you need or want. The baker who makes the bread you eat every morning works in the food industry. Even the mailman who brings letters from Grandma is part of the communication industry.
Some people work together to make a toy that you play with, like the designers, who think of the idea, and the manufacturers, who build it. They’re all in different parts of one big group called an industry.
So every time you use something or meet someone doing a job you find interesting, they're probably part of a special group, an industry!
