What are regular pentagons?

A regular pentagon is a shape with 5 equal sides and 5 equal angles, like a perfectly symmetrical five-sided cookie cutter.

Imagine you have a pizza cut into 5 slices, each slice has the same size and angle. If you take one of those slices and use it as a template to draw around on paper, that’s what a regular pentagon looks like!

• All sides are the same length, just like all the edges of your favorite building block.

You can find regular pentagons in nature too, some flowers have petals arranged in this five-sided pattern, and even some sports balls use them!
